Journalist Majid Hyderi’s PSA Detention Quashed by Court

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Wednesday nullified the Public Safety Act (PSA) detention order against journalist Majid Hyderi, nearly five months after his arrest.

Justice V. K. Chatterjee struck down the PSA order, paving the way for Hyderi’s release. The journalist was arrested in September 2023 on charges of ‘extortion’ and defamation before being shifted to Kot Bhalwal Jail under PSA detention.
