Tempo-Alto Collision inside Shalgadi Tunnel Leaves 1 Dead, 3 Others Injured

Srinagar, Mar 10: A person died while three others sustained injuries after two vehicles collided inside Shalgadi tunnel along National Highway-44 on Monday.

An official told news agency Kashmir Bulletin that a Tempo (JK13C 7242) and an Alto (PB02CT 8863), collided inside the tunnel, resulting in death of a person and injuries to three others.

“The injured persons, identified as Arshdeep Singh (19), Charanjeet Singh (40), Kamaljeet Singh (42), all residents of Amritsar Punjab, have been evacuated from the site and on way to a nearby hospital,” the official said, adding, “the deceased, identified as Anmolpreet Singh (22), was the driver of the fateful vehicle.”

Confirming the incident, a police official told Kashmir Bulletin that they have taken cognisance of the incident for further investigations. (KB)
