J&K EJAC Leaders Attend Voice TV Urdu’s 1st Anniversary Celebrations

Srinagar, 23 March : The Jammu & Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee ( EJAC), President Wajahat Hussain Durrani and General Secretary Sajad Ahmad Parray, participated in the 1st Anniversary Celebrations of Voice TV Urdu, held at Hotel Radisson, M.A. Road, Srinagar. On this special occasion, the EJAC leadership extended their heartfelt congratulations to the esteemed journalists and the entire management team of Voice TV Urdu for their invaluable contributions to the field of journalism.
Adressing the esteemed gathering, President EJAC Wajahat Hussain Durrani emphasized the indispensable role of journalism as the fourth pillar of democracy. He commended Voice TV Urdu for its unwavering commitment to truthful, unbiased, and impactful reporting and acknowledged the dedication of its team, particularly the renowned TV journalists Mr Sanam Aijaz (Director, Voice TV Urdu), Hilal Ahmad Hanjra, and Mohammad Rouf Farooqi.


“The media serves as the true voice of the people, bringing their concerns before the government while, at times, conveying the government’s perspective to the people. It is a powerful bridge that fosters dialogue, ensures transparency, and strengthens accountability. The role of journalists in upholding democratic values and social justice is indispensable, and EJAC pledges its unwavering support to the media in its mission to uphold the principles of truth and justice,” Durrani added.


General Secretary EJAC Sajad Ahmad Parray also congratulated the team at Voice TV Urdu, lauding their commitment to representing all sections of society, particularly the working class. He appreciated their relentless efforts in highlighting critical concerns, including the plight of poor daily wagers and contractual employees, ensuring their voices are heard at the highest levels.

Giving details of the event UT Spokesperson Mir Bashir further emphasized that the leadership was invited by the management to celebrate this significant milestone. He stated that Voice TV Urdu has rapidly emerged as a credible and influential media platform in Jammu & Kashmir within a short span of time.

The event was graced by several distinguished personalities and dignitaries, including Ahmad Ayaz, Ab. Qayoom Wani, Shakeel Qalander, Farooq Ahmad, Imad Sadiq, Yousuf Jameel, Nazim Sahib, Ajaz Ahmad Khan, M. Amin Khan, Mir Fayaz, and Masroor Ahmad. Their participation underscored the pivotal role of the media in shaping public discourse and addressing pressing societal issues.


The EJAC leadership reaffirmed its steadfast support for independent and responsible journalism, urging media professionals to uphold their mission with dedication, courage, and ethical integrity. They expressed optimism that Voice TV Urdu will continue to serve as a strong pillar of democracy, advocating for the concerns of the people and promoting justice through fearless and impartial reporting.
