Gunfight Breaks Out In South Kashmir’s Tral

Srinagar, May 15:Encounter has started between militants and security forces in Nadar Lorgam area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Awantipora on Thursday.

A top police officer told GNS that a team of Police and security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Tral on a very specific input.

As the joint team approached towards the suspected area, the hiding militants fired upon the joint party, leading to an encounter, officer added.

Pertinently, on Tuesday operational Commander of LeT Shahid Kuttay along with two other militants were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Shopian. (Agencies)

Till this report was being filed intermittent exchange of fire was going on.
