Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi Hospitalised After Heart Attack

Bandipora, May 23: Renowned Islamic scholar and Sheikh-ul-Hadith, Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi, suffered a massive heart attack on Thursday morning and was rushed to SKIMS Soura for treatment.


The incident took place at Darul Uloom Rahimya in Bandipora, where Mufti Qasmi complained of severe chest pain around 9:30 AM. He was first taken to a nearby hospital and later shifted to Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar for specialised care.


Medical sources said he is currently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and remains under the observation of a team of senior doctors.

In a statement, his son Muhammad Idrees expressed gratitude for the timely medical response and the prayers of well-wishers. “By Allah’s grace and the doctors’ swift efforts, the situation was brought under control. He is under treatment in the ICU,” he said, also thanking the medical team for their care.
Idrees appealed to Mufti Qasmi’s followers, associates, and students to pray for his speedy recovery.

All his scheduled public programmes have been cancelled until further notice.
