LG Office Confirms Renaming of Raj Bhawan to Lok Bhawan

Srinagar, Dec 02 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has renamed Raj Bhawan as Lok Bhawan in pursuance of a communication received from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

Officials sources confirmed to news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the re-designation has come directly from the Lieutenant Governor’s Office after the MHA advised replacing the traditional term Raj Bhavan with Lok Bhawan for the official residence and secretariat of the Lieutenant Governor. The change is effective immediately, they said.

With the renaming, all official references and government communication will gradually adopt the new nomenclature, though the transition process is expected to be implemented shortly.

Raj Bhavan in both Srinagar and Jammu will now be known as Lok Bhawan, marking a shift toward people-oriented terminology encouraged by the Centre. (KDC)
