Tehran: Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has reportedly been martyred following an attack carried out by the United States and Israel, according to Iran’s state news agency IRNA.
The report states that Ayatollah Khamenei was killed early Saturday morning during what Iranian authorities described as a coordinated assault by the Israeli regime and the United States. Officials have characterized the incident as a direct act of aggression.
Following the announcement, the Iranian Cabinet declared 40 days of national mourning across the country. In addition, authorities announced seven days of public holidays to honor the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Ayatollah Khamenei had served as Iran’s Supreme Leader since 1989, succeeding Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. During his tenure, he played a central role in shaping Iran’s domestic and foreign policies
