India, Pakistan to Hold Brigadier-Level Flag Meeting at LoC to Ease Tensions

Srinagar, Feb 21: India and Pakistan are set to hold a high-level flag meeting along the Line of Control (LoC) to address rising tensions following recent cross-border exchanges of fire.

The meeting, scheduled to take place at Chakandabad in the Poonch sector, will be attended by Brigadier-rank officers from both sides.

Defense sources told the Kashmir-based news agency Kashmir News Trust that the decision to convene the meeting comes in the wake of multiple ceasefire violations, including instances of gunfire and landmine explosions in different sectors.

The ceasefire agreement, which has largely held for the past four years, has come under strain due to these recent skirmishes.

“The meeting aims to de-escalate the situation and reinforce the commitment to ceasefire protocols.”. (KNT)
