Hajj 2025: First batch of pilgrims deports from Srinagar Hajj House

Srinagar, May 4: The first batch of Hajj pilgrims for the year 2025 deported from the Srinagar Hajj House today, marking the beginning of the sacred journey for hundreds of devotees from Jammu and Kashmir. According to the Jammu & Kashmir Hajj Committee, over 3,600 pilgrims from J&K are scheduled to perform Hajj this year under the Government quota as per Kashmir Bulletin.

The group, comprising 178 pilgrims, was seen off with prayers and blessings in a well-coordinated send-off ceremony attended by senior officials, religious scholars, and members of the Hajj Committee.Officials confirmed that all arrangements regarding travel, accommodation, and health have been meticulously put in place.

Special facilities were also made available at the Hajj House to ensure a smooth departure process, including medical check-ups and logistical support.

The remaining batches are scheduled to depart in the coming days as part of the annual pilgrimage, which is one of the five pillars of Islam and a dream journey for millions of Muslims around the world.Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Bilal Mohiuddin, said efforts have been made to ensure the departure of Hujaj from the city is smooth and hassle-free.

Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar, GV Sundeep, also visited the Hajj House to review the arrangements put in place for the pilgrims (KB).
