‘Good intention with weak implementation and zero action’: PDP’s Waheed Para reacts over budget

Jammu, Mar 07: Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) leader and MLA Pulwama on Friday criticized the budget presented by chief minister Omar Abdullah, saying “the budget has been presented with good intention but with weak implementation and zero action on ground”.

Talking to reporters outside the Legislative Assembly in Jammu, Para said that the budget presented by chief minister Omar Abdullah deserves zero number.

“We didn’t oppose it, but what we are saying that budget has been presented with a good intention but with no tangible action.

This looks like more of a centrally-sponsored scheme distribution than a budget for running and addressing concerns of the people of Jammu & Kashmir,” PDP MLA said.

While criticizing the government, he said there seems a complete shift what National Conference (NC) promised during elections and what they are deliver on ground.

“There was a hope that J&K has witnessed a popular government after a long pause. We were hoping that issues like unemployment, development, financial stress over people due to raid-raj, economical upliftment, issues of traders, farmers, youth, daily wagers, employees and others would be addressed, but unfortunately this budget looks more of a centrally-sponsored scheme which disappointed people,” he said.

Reacting to Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma’s letter to Speaker over expunging remarks referencing Pakistan, the PDP leader Para said that BJP want to suppress people both in and outside Assembly.

“They (BJP) want to suppress people like they suppressed them outside Assembly. They want to establish their writ in Jammu & Kashmir, and want to destabilize democracy in J&K.

Now they want to do Speaker’s job themselves, and want run democracy according to their whims and wishes,” he said.

The PDP leader reiterated that this House is about to opening space for people of Jammu and Kashmir, and people have every right to talk what they feel.(Agencies)
