Al-Falah University Expresses Shock Over Red Fort Blast, Denies Any Institutional Involvement

Faridabad, Nov 12: The Al-Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana, has issued an official statement expressing shock and anguish over the tragic blast near Delhi’s Red Fort and firmly denying any institutional involvement in the incident. The statement, a copy of which lies with the news agency Kashmir News Trust was released after reports emerged that two doctors associated with the university had been detained by investigating agencies in connection with the case.

Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bhupinder Kaur Anand, in the signed statement, said the university is “deeply saddened and anguished by the unfortunate developments” and offered condolences to the victims. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all the innocent people affected by these distressing events,” the statement read.

Clarifying the university’s stance, Dr. Anand said: “The University has no connection whatsoever with the said persons apart from their official roles as employees. We are fully cooperating with the investigating authorities to ensure a fair and transparent inquiry.”

The statement further denounced “certain online platforms” for circulating misleading and defamatory content aimed at tarnishing the university’s image. “We categorically deny all such baseless allegations,” the Vice Chancellor asserted, adding that all laboratory activities within the institution are conducted “strictly as per safety protocols, statutory norms, and ethical standards mandated by the regulatory authorities.”

Reaffirming the institution’s commitment to the nation, Dr. Anand said: “As a responsible institution, we stand in solidarity with the country and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to its unity, peace, and security.”

The university also appealed to the media and public to verify facts before making or sharing statements concerning the institution. It assured that its students continue their education “in an atmosphere of peace, normalcy, and academic discipline” on campus. [KNT]
