NC wants Ladakh reintegrated, restoration of job, land rights, special status: Sakina Itoo

Srinagar, Jan 21: Cabinet Minister and senior National Conference leader Sakina Itoo on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of pursuing divisive politics, asserting that the National Conference stands firmly for the unity of Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to reporters, Itoo said the BJP has always thrived on division in society, while the National Conference believes in cohesion and inclusive politics. She said the party’s objective is to unite Jammu and Kashmir and safeguard the rights and aspirations of its people.

The minister said the National Conference believes that Ladakh should once again be made part of Jammu and Kashmir. She also reiterated the party’s demand for the restoration of job and land rights, along with the reinstatement of the region’s special status.

Itoo said the National Conference’s political approach is rooted in protecting the identity, dignity and constitutional rights of the people, in contrast to what she described as the BJP’s divisive agenda.

She maintained that the party will continue to raise its voice for unity and restoration of rights, asserting that these issues remain central to the National Conference’s political vision. [KNT]
