Pakistani drones spotted along Keran sector, Army responds with warning fire

Kupwara, Jan 30: Around 15 Pakistani drones were spotted flying near the Jodha Makan Beerandori area of the Keran sector along the Line of Control in North Kashmir’s Kupwara on Friday, prompting an immediate response from Army troops, officials said.

Sources said personnel of the Indian Army’s 06 Rashtriya Rifles observed the drones in the airspace and fired warning shots. Following the response, all the drones reportedly retreated back, and the firing was described as non effective.

Officials said no loss of life or damage was reported in the incident. The situation remains under close watch, and surveillance has been further intensified in the area.

Security agencies are maintaining heightened alertness along the LoC to monitor any such aerial activity and prevent possible threats. [KNT]
