PDP leader Urges Government to Ensure Uninterrupted Basic Services During Holy Month of Ramzan

District President of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Baramulla Mohd Rafique Rather, has urged the District administration to make comprehensive and timely arrangements to ensure uninterrupted basic services for the people during the holy month of Ramzan.

In a statement issued today, Rather said that Ramzan is a sacred and spiritually significant month for Muslims, and it is the responsibility of the government to facilitate the public by ensuring regular power supply, adequate drinking water, and essential civic amenities, especially during Sehri and Iftar hours.

He stressed the need for strict market checking to prevent the sale of adulterated and substandard food items. “Authorities must activate food safety and market inspection teams to safeguard public health. Stern action should be taken against those involved in adulteration and black marketing,” he said.

Ragique Rather also called for effective price control measures to keep essential commodities within the reach of common people. He urged the concerned departments to monitor markets closely so that consumers are not exploited during the holy month.
Furthermore, he appealed to the administration to ensure proper sanitation, availability of healthcare facilities, and smooth functioning of ration supplies so that people can observe the holy month with devotion and without hardship.

Rather expressed hope that the government will act promptly and responsibly in the larger public interest and ensure relief to the people during the blessed month of Ramzan.
