Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has dismissed reports suggesting that his government is advertising or allotting new liquor vends.Taking social media handle X, he called the claims baseless and urged TV channels and news portals to stop spreading misinformation.

“No new liquor vends are being advertised or allotted by my government. TV channels and news portals should immediately stop peddling this lie,” he posted.

His statement comes amid ongoing debates over liquor policies in the Union Territory. Some reports had alleged that new liquor shops were being opened under the administration, sparking public discussions. However, Omar Abdullah made it clear that such claims are false and misleading, urging media outlets to report responsibly. (KNS)
