Driver Dies, Two Others Injured in School Van Accident at Lal Chowk

Srinagar, Apr 2 : A driver lost his life while two others were injured in a road accident of school van near Ghanta Ghar at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Thursday.

Fortunately students escaped unhurt in the accident.

Officals told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the driver identified as Javeed Ahmad, 47, a resident of Umair Abad, Bemina, was injured critically and was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital.

Javeed Ahmad was driving a school van when he lost control opposite SSI Bank Lal Chowk, resulting in multiple grievous injuries. Despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, the official said.

Two other persons also sustained minor injuries in the incident and are undergoing treatment. Their condition is stated to be stable.

Cognizance has been taken and further investigation initiated.
