Anantnag Youth Found in Dubai Jail Over Iran-Related Social Media Post

Srinagar, April 21: Anantnag resident Asif Ahmad Bhat, who had been missing in Dubai since March 29, has been located in a jail in the UAE, according to the All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA).

AIMSA stated that Bhat, a resident of Butpora Dialgam in Anantnag, was reportedly detained by authorities after sharing a video related to Iran on social media.

The organization had earlier appealed to India’s Ministry of External Affairs to intervene urgently in the matter after the youth was reported missing.

UAE authorities have recently issued warnings against circulating unverified or sensitive content linked to regional security issues, cautioning that violations could lead to strict legal action.

Following the development, AIMSA has urged Indian nationals working in Gulf countries to remain cautious while using social media and to avoid sharing content related to conflicts or politically sensitive topics, as it may result in serious consequences under local laws.
