Rains to continue during next 36 hours in Kashmir as MeT issues yellow alert

According to the forecast, complete improvement expected from March 17

Srinagar, March 14: Light to moderate rains will continue to lash Jammu and Kashmir during the next 36 hours, accompanied by snowfall in scattered areas, said the weather department today. Fresh snowfall has also been witnessed in parts of south Kashmir.

An official stated that light to moderate rains will lash Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days. However, the weather is expected to improve from Sunday, March 16, with scattered areas likely to receive light rain on that day.

On March 14, the weather in Jammu and Kashmir remained wet as light to moderate rains lashed the region, while fresh snowfall was reported in parts of Kashmir.

According to the forecast, the wet spell will continue through March 15 and 16, with complete improvement expected from March 17.

A yellow warning has been issued, cautioning against isolated snow and lightning over Jammu and Kashmir. The advisory also warned of potential transportation disruptions at important passes and higher reaches on March 14 and 15.(agencies)
