Srinagar, Aug 14: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Friday clarified that no order has been issued directing employees appointed under the Prime Minister’s Package to work from home.
Garg urged people to rely only on authentic information shared through official government and administration channels.
He was responding to reports claiming that PM Package employees had been verbally asked to work from home amid security concerns. He categorically stated that no such order had been issued.
The Divisional Commissioner said that necessary security arrangements have been put in place for employees, residents and the general public ahead of Independence Day celebrations in Srinagar.
“We should rely on the authentic information channels that are provided by the government and the administration,” he said.
Garg also extended Independence Day greetings to the people and invited residents to attend the main Independence Day function at Bakshi Stadium on Saturday. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will unfurl the national flag and address the gathering at 10 am.
He said a full dress rehearsal for the Independence Day function was held at Bakshi Stadium on Thursday, with parade contingents and cultural groups participating after around 20 days of preparations.
He added that security agencies had conducted a detailed review of the arrangements to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the celebrations.(KNO)
