Bunjwah Incident Shocking, Govt Must Reassess Priorities: Altaf Bukhari

Kishtwar, Mar 03:In a tragic incident highlighting the lack of basic facilities in remote areas, a pregnant woman in Bunjwah, Kishtwar, was forced to give birth on the roadside while being carried to the hospital on a charpai due to the absence of proper road connectivity.

Reacting to the incident, JKAP President Altaf Bukhari, in a post on X, called for an urgent reassessment of priorities in Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that thousands of people in remote areas continue to suffer due to poor road infrastructure, inadequate healthcare, and a lack of basic amenities like electricity and clean water.

Bukhari urged the administration to prioritize essential services, ensuring that such distressing incidents do not recur. The incident has once again raised concerns over the hardships faced by people in far-flung areas, demanding immediate government intervention.  (KNS)
