Encounter breaks out in Kupwara

Srinagar, Mar 17 (JKNS ): An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday.

A top Police official told news agency JKNS that on specific inputs about the militants hiding in Krumbhoora, Zachaldara Rajwar in Kupwara district, a search operation was launched by a joint team of forces.

He said that during search operation hiding militants fired upon security forces which was retaliated triggering an encounter.

Two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the incident. Further details awaited. (JKNS)
