Two J&K Police Personnel Killed in Kathua Encounter

Kathua, March 27: Two Jammu and Kashmir Police jawans lost their lives in the line of duty during an encounter in Kathua district.

Official Sources told news agency JKNS that, Two Jammu and Kashmir Police jawans lost their lives in the line of duty during the ongoing operation.

Both were serving as Personal Security Officers (PSOs) to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Dheeraj Katoch, who had a narrow escape, sources said.

Inspector General (IG) Jammu Zone Police, Bhim Sen Tuti, is camping at the operation site, while Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat was also present at a nearby base.

The encounter, which erupted after security forces engaged terrorists in the area, remains ongoing, with additional forces deployed to neutralize the threat. (JKNS)
