Srinagar, Mar 29: An unidentified body was found inside a filtration plant in Laridora area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla on Saturday.

An official said the body was found this afternoon inside filtration plant in Thanda Kasi, following which police was informed. “A police team has reached at the site, and the body taken into possession for necessary medico-legal formalities,” the official added.

Soon after the incident, the officials of PHE Division Baramulla sounded an alert and urged people to avoid drinking water supply from the said filtration plant for a day.

“An unidentified body has been found in the Laridora water supply scheme. This is tragic news, and the district administration and the police have been informed about the matter,” said Aijaz Ahmad, Executive Engineer PHE Division Baramulla.

He appealed to the residents of Laridora and Rajpora not to use the water they fetched today. He added, “We have deployed tankers to supply water to the people.”(agencies)
