Govt Appoints MP Mian Altaf Ahmad As Member of J&K Hajj Committee

SRINAGAR, April 11: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has officially appointed Shri Mian Altaf Ahmad, Member of Parliament from the Rajouri-Anantnag constituency, as a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Haj Committee.

The appointment, made under the provisions of the Haj Committee Act, 2002, was announced via a notification issued by the Revenue Department on April 11, 2025. His term will align with the members appointed through notification S.O. 344 dated 20.07.2022.

While the government terms the move a procedural decision, some voices from the political sphere have expressed varying opinions on the timing and nature of the appointment.
