Three militants Killed in Kishtwar: Operation Underway

Kishtwar, Apr 11: A top commander is believed to be among three militants killed in an ongoing gunfight in the forested area of Chatroo in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, officials said.

A senior police official confirmed to Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the encounter began on April 9, when security forces launched a joint anti-militancy operation based on specific intelligence inputs about militant presence in the remote forest belt.

Three militants have been killed. The operation is still in progress, the officer said, adding that the identity of the slain militants is being ascertained. (KDC)
