Pakistani Troops Open Fire Across LoC in Multiple J&K sectors: Army

Srinagar, May 4: Pakistani Army personnel resorted to unprovoked small arms fire during the night of May 3–4 along the Line of Control (LoC) in several sectors across Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources told news agency JKNS that Pakistan resorted to firing from areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar, Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor.

“There was unprovoked small arms fire from across the LoC during the night. Our troops responded in a firm and proportionate manner,” official told JKNS.

There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage on the Indian side. Sources said the situation was being closely monitored and troops remained on high alert.

The Indian Army’s response was described as prompt and controlled, aimed at deterring further misadventure.

The incident comes amid increased surveillance and heightened operational readiness along the LoC.
