Govt Restores Oct-Nov Academic Session for 10-12 grades Across J&K, Ladakh

Srinagar, May 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has officially announced the restoration of the previous academic calendar for the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh starting from the current year (2025).

As per an official notification a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads that as a sequel to the Government Orders it is hereby notified for the information of all stakeholders that previous academic calendar is hereby restored from current year (2025) in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories and as a consequence thereof.

The academic session for the Kashmir Division, winter zone areas of Jammu Division, and the UT of Ladakh will now be counted as 2024–25. Consequently, the Annual Regular Examinations for classes 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th will be held in October–November 2025.

For the Jammu Division (Summer Zone), the academic session will be designated as 2025–26, with Annual Regular Examinations for classes 9th to 12th scheduled for March–April 2026.

The restoration supersedes the earlier Notification No. F.(Acad-C)/B/A.C/22 dated 22-09-2022 and aligns with Government Order No. 468-JK (Edu) of 2024 dated November 6, 2024.

All stakeholders including schools, students, and education officers across J&K and Ladakh have been advised to adhere to the revised calendar, which now brings back the bifurcated academic schedule based on regional climatic zones. (JKNS)
