BSF apprehends Pakistani intruder in Pathankot

Pathankot, May 30: Alert Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on Friday apprehended a Pakistani national who had illegally crossed the International Border (IB) in Punjab’s Pathankot district, officials said.

Official sources said that the intruder was intercepted by BSF troops near the Narot Jaimal Singh sector after they noticed suspicious movement ahead of the border fence.”The individual was apprehended swiftly by alert troops before he could advance further into Indian territory,” official sources said.

The arrested person has been identified as Jabar, son of Khadir, a resident of Jhelum district in Punjab, Pakistan, they said.

After preliminary questioning, the individual was handed over to Police Chowki Bamial under PS Narot Jaimal Singh for further investigation, they added.

Security agencies are verifying the motive behind the intrusion. (JKNS)
