Flood Alert Issued for Jammu as Water Levels Rise

Jammu, Sep 2: Authorities have sounded a flood alert for Jammu after a significant rise in water levels was recorded in local rivers and streams. The alert follows weather predictions that indicate heavy to extremely heavy rainfall during the night and continuing through tomorrow.

Officials cautioned that the situation may escalate if the predicted spell of rain persists, potentially leading to flooding in low-lying areas.

They have urged the people of Jammu to remain alert and take precautionary measures, particularly those residing near water bodies.
Emergency teams have been asked to stay on standby, while the administration is closely monitoring the developments.

The public has been advised to avoid unnecessary movement in vulnerable zones and follow updates issued by the authorities.(KNT)
