Recruitment for 25,000 Posts in to Be Completed This Year

Jammu, March 31: Chief Minister on Tuesday announced that the government plans to complete recruitment for approximately 25,000 vacant posts in Jammu and Kashmir during the current year. He said the administration is taking serious steps to address the issue of unemployment.

The announcement was made during a session of the , where the Chief Minister elaborated on the recruitment process and the government’s strategy in this regard.

He stated that the matter has already been discussed in detail in the Assembly, including during debates on the Lieutenant Governor’s address, the budget, and departmental grants.

Responding to questions raised by legislators, including , Omar Abdullah said the government aims to ensure that the recruitment process is carried out in a systematic, transparent, and accountable manner.

He said, “We are committed to completing recruitment for 25,000 posts this year.”

The Chief Minister clarified that a time-bound process does not mean rushing the procedure, adding that undue haste could lead to legal complications.

He noted that in the past, several recruitment processes were challenged in courts, causing delays and resulting in some candidates crossing the age limit and losing their opportunity.

Omar Abdullah added that the government intends to maintain a balance between speed and fairness to establish a system that is legally sound and sustainable.
