Body of Missing 4-Year-Old Boy Recovered from Rambiara Stream in Shopian After Six Days

Shopian, May 1: The body of a four-year-old boy, who had gone missing after slipping into the Rambiara stream, was recovered on Friday morning after six days of extensive search operations.

The child, identified as Mohammad Hanzala, son of Najar Ahmad Turray and a resident of Pulwama, had accidentally fallen into the fast-flowing stream near the Dubjan area earlier this week.

Following the incident, a large-scale search operation was launched involving multiple agencies, including the Jammu and Kashmir Police, SDRF, NDRF, and local volunteers. Despite challenging conditions such as strong currents and fluctuating water levels, teams continued the search efforts day and night.

Officials said the body was finally recovered near the Gur Chamb area of Shopian. It has been taken for medico-legal formalities.

The tragic incident has left the bereaved family and the local community in deep shock, bringing a sorrowful end to days of anxious waiting.
