Crackdown against banned organizations continues across Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 26: In a major crackdown on proscribed organisations, Jammu & Kashmir Police on Wednesday conducted extensive raids in Anantnag and Bandipora districts as part of an ongoing investigation to dismantle terror-linked networks and curb unlawful activities.The coordinated searches targeted residences, shops, and premises of individuals suspected of having links with banned organisations.

In south Kashmir’s Anantnag, the raids were conducted at residences of Ashaq Hussain Narchor (Tehreek-e-Hurriyat), Mattan Chowk Anantnag; Fayaz Ahmad Dass (Tehreek-e-Hurriyat), Waghama; Mohammad Rafiq Dar (Tehreek-e-Hurriyat), Satkipora, Srigufwara; Ghulam Nabi Sumji (Muslim Conference), Bijbehara; Manzoor Ahmad Misger (Muslim Conference), Kadipora Anantnag; Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi & Mukhtar Ahmad Waza (Jammu8 Kashmir People’s League), Malaknag Anantnag; and Mohammad Shafi Khan (Hurriyat), Zaldoora Dooru.

In Bandipora raids were conducted at multiple locations in connection with investigation of terror related cases of proscribed/ banned organisations i.e. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Freedom League, Muslim Conference & Bhat Group.Advertisement
The raids were conducted in connection with investigation of Case.FIR No.04/2024 U/S 10,13 ULAP of Ps Bandipora.

The searches were carried out at the houses of Riyaz Ahmad Mir, S/o Gh Ahmad Mir, R/o Plan Bandipora; Qaiser Ahmad Khan, S/o Mohd Ayoub Khan, R/o Plan Bandipora; Firdous Ahmad Bhat, S/o Gh Nabi Bhat, R/o Plan Bandipora; and Farooq Ahmad Mir, S/o Gh Hassan Mir, R/o Plan Bandipora, all members of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat.

Moreover in connection with investigation of Case FIR No.68/2024Us 10,13 ULAP Act,69/2024 U/S 10,13 ULAP Act of PS Bandipora searches were conducted at various locations in Onagam and Nathpora Bandipora.

Nothing incriminating was recovered from the suspects. During the searches many  suspects have been questioned.It is pertinent to mention here that the investigation is aimed at dismantling the terror ecosystem in the UT by not only identifying over ground workers (OGW’s) supporting and abetting terrorism but by ensuring legal action as envisaged by the law of the land.(GK)
