DySP Among 4 Cops Injured in Ongoing Kathua Encounter

KATHUA, MARCH 27 – An officer among 4 jawans were injured during ongoing encounter between security forces and militants in the Juthana area of Kathua on Thursday.

Reliable sources said that security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following specific inputs about the presence of militants.

As the forces zeroed in on the suspected location, they came under heavy fire, leading to a fierce gunfight.

During the exchange, SDPO Border DySP Dheeraj Katoch among 3 jawans sustained injuries. They have been shifted to a medical facility for treatment, they said.

Intermittent firing is still ongoing, and additional reinforcements have been rushed to the spot.(Agencies)
