LG Chairs All-Party Meeting in Srinagar on Peaceful Amarnath Yatra

Srinagar, June 26: An all‑party meeting was held today at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar, chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, to review preparations and security arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.

Details available with news agency JKNS stated that, LG Manoj Sinha chaired the meeting and briefed political parties with regard to arrangement s made for amarnath yatra.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, People’s Conference chairman Sajad Gani Lone, Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari, Peoples Democratic Party leader Iltija Mufti, CPI‑M’s M.Y. Tarigami, and senior representatives of other political parties participated in the meeting, details stated.

During the meeting, LG Sinha briefed party leaders about the elaborate security and logistical measures put in place for the smooth and safe conduct of the Yatra, it stated.

Speaking to reporters after attendimg meeting Pani party cheif Altaf Bukhari as per JKNS said that, “All parties expressed a shared commitment to ensuring that the pilgrimage proceeds peacefully and urged the LG to make sure that locals are not inconvenienced during the Yatra period.”

Earlier in the day, LG Sinha had addressed a press conference at Raj Bhawan, highlighting preparations for the annual pilgrimage. (JKNS)
