Mehbooba Mufti’s cousin Sarwar Mufti joins Apni Party

Srinagar, July 26: In a significant setback to the People’s Democratic Party, Sarwar Mufti, cousin of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, joined the Apni Party in Srinagar, on Saturday.

Sarwar according to details available with News Agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), joined Apni Party in a function presided over by Apni Party Chief Altaf Bhukhari in Srinagar.

Sarwar who was associated with PDP for a long time had joined Democratic Progressive Azad Party in November 2023, however, he later rejoined PDP before joining the Apni Party today.

Sarwar’s exit is perceived as major setback to PDP, which had managed to win only three seats in 2024 polls—(KNO)
