Two Killed, Three Injured in Kathua road accident

SRINAGAR: Two persons were killed and three others sustained serious injuries after a vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a nallah on the Kathua–Basohli road near Kainta Morh (Dakhnaka) on Sunday.

Officials said that, the accident took place around 12:40 PM when an XUV car lost control and plunged into a nallah.

A police team from Police Post Basantpur rushed to the spot, rescued the occupants, and shifted them to GMC Kathua, they said.

Doctors at GMC declared two of the injured Mohinder Paul and Pawan Madhan as brought dead, officials said. Three others injured were all residents of Ferozepur and are undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an inquiry. (KNC)
