Driver Killed, Two Injured After Vehicle Hit by Landslide in Mahore

Reasi, Aug 23: A goods carrier truck was struck by a landslide in Malai Nallah area of Mahore in Reasi district of Jammu during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, resulting in the death of the driver and injuries to two others.

Officials said the vehicle, bearing registration number JK20B-9578, was on its way to Mahore when it came under debris between 2 and 3 a.m. The injured were immediately rushed to nearby health facilities.

Doctors at PHC Dharmari declared the driver, identified as Shabaz Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Jamlan Mahore (Reasi), as brought dead.

The injured have been identified as Javed Ahmad, son of Mohammad Hussain of Kansooli, Mahore, Reasi and Abdul Ghani, who were given first aid and shifted for further treatment.

Police have registered a case in this regard. [KNT]
