Minister Sakina Itoo Criticises Handling of Eid-e-Milad Holiday in J&K

Srinagar, Sep 5: Cabinet Minister Sakina Itoo on Friday criticised the authorities for failing to declare the Eid-e-Milad holiday in line with the actual date, calling it an “injustice” to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sharing her remarks on X the Minister wrote that despite clear guidelines about holidays being subject to the sighting of the moon, the administration failed to act accordingly.

“Repeated requests from the elected Government to shift the holiday were ignored. This is playing with people’s emotions. Decisions like these must be taken by an elected government, not by a selected administration,” she said. (KNC)
