J&K Assembly Autumn Session Concludes, Adjourned Sine Die

Srinagar, Oct 31: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Friday concluded its nine-day Autumn Session, which was adjourned sine die by Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather after the completion of scheduled business.

During the session, the House conducted elections for four Rajya Sabha seats and passed five government bills. Out of 41 private members’ bills listed for discussion, only eight were taken up — most of which were either withdrawn following government assurances or defeated through a voice vote at the introduction stage.

The session largely remained peaceful, though a brief disruption occurred when BJP legislators staged a walkout after their adjournment motion on flood victims, moved by Udhampur MLA Pawan Gupta, was disallowed by the Speaker.

Speaker Rather thanked all members for their participation and cooperation, noting that the session witnessed meaningful debates and legislative work.

The Assembly has now been adjourned sine die — with no date fixed for its next sitting.(Agencies)
