Stop fooling people over statehood, work for J&K’s Development: LG Sinha

Srinagar, Oct 31:  Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said that the excuse of not being able to work without statehood cannot justify inaction, urging elected representatives to use their existing powers for the welfare of the people.

Speaking at an event, LG Sinha said that the government and elected representatives already have the authority to make decisions and implement policies in the Union Territory.

“This excuse cannot be used that the work will be done only when the statehood is obtained.

All the rights are with the government. People should stop fooling people and use their powers to work for the well-being of the citizens of J&K,” Sinha said.

He also said that development and public service should not be delayed on political grounds, and that leaders must focus on delivering results rather than making excuses.(KNS)
