Kashmir doctor seeks Govt help to airlift critically ill wife from Mecca

Srinagar, Jan 16: Dr. Rouf, whose wife is in a critical condition at a hospital in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, has made an urgent appeal for assistance to airlift his wife to Srinagar for medical treatment.

In an emotional plea, Dr. Rouf has sought the intervention of the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, requesting them to take up the matter with the Union Minister for External Affairs to facilitate her airlifting to Srinagar.

“I am facing the worst situation of my life. I request the authorities and kind-hearted people to help me bring my ailing wife back to Srinagar,” Dr. Rouf said, according to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).

He said his wife has suffered a stroke and doctors have informed him that her recovery may take several months or even a year.

Family members and friends have also appealed to the authorities to take urgent steps to assist the distressed family. (KINS)
