Modi, Trump Discuss West Asia Situation; Call for De-escalation and Secure Trade Routes

New Delhi, Mar 24: Indian Prime Minister held a telephonic conversation with US President on Tuesday to discuss the evolving situation in West Asia, with both leaders stressing the need for de-escalation and regional stability.

According to officials, the two leaders exchanged views on ongoing tensions in the region and agreed on the importance of restoring peace at the earliest. India reiterated its consistent position in favour of dialogue and diplomatic efforts to reduce hostilities.

Prime Minister Modi also highlighted the strategic significance of the , stressing that the vital shipping route must remain open, secure, and accessible to ensure uninterrupted global trade and energy supplies.

Both leaders agreed to stay in close contact and continue consultations on efforts aimed at maintaining peace, stability, and secure maritime routes in West Asia.
