Shots Fired Near White House Correspondents’ Dinner; Trump Safe

Washington, DC: Shots were fired outside the venue of the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner, prompting a swift security response and the evacuation of US President . The incident occurred at the Washington Hilton, where the high-profile media event was being held.

According to officials, the gunfire erupted near a security screening area outside the hotel ballroom just before the event began. Secret Service agents immediately secured the scene and escorted the president, First Lady , and senior officials to safety. All were reported unharmed.

The US Secret Service confirmed that a suspect armed with multiple weapons attempted to breach the security checkpoint and was quickly “taken down” by agents. One Secret Service officer was reportedly struck during the incident but was protected by a bulletproof vest and is in stable condition.

In a brief press conference afterward, President described the suspect as a “dangerous individual” and praised the rapid response of security personnel. “We ask all Americans to remain united and resolve differences peacefully,” he said.

The (FBI) has launched a full investigation into the incident. FBI Director stated that authorities are reviewing the suspect’s background and urged the public to share any relevant information.

Initial reports suggest the suspect is a 31-year-old man from California, now in custody. Witnesses inside the venue described chaotic scenes as attendees took cover when gunshots were heard.

This marks another serious security scare involving President , who has previously survived assassination attempts.
