CM Omar Condemns Kulgam Attack, Announces ₹10 Lakh Ex-Gratia Relief for Families of Victims

Srinagar, Aug 1 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday strongly condemned the killing of two non-local labourers in the Kulgam attack and announced an ex-gratia relief of ₹10 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the next of kin of the deceased.

According to a post shared by the Office of the Chief Minister on X, Chief Minister described the attack as a “dastardly act” and expressed profound grief over the loss of innocent lives.

The Chief Minister announced that the ex-gratia assistance of ₹10 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund would be provided in addition to the ₹6 lakh immediate relief already being extended by the District Administration to each bereaved family.

He also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and reaffirmed that the Jammu and Kashmir Government stands firmly with them during this difficult time.

The attack, which took place in the Kilam area of Kulgam on Friday evening, claimed the lives of two non-local labourers after terrorists opened fire on them.

Security forces have launched a massive operation to track down the attackers. (JKNS)
