Police Complaint Filed Against Mehbooba Mufti Over Alleged Insult to National Flag

Jammu, August 5: A written police complaint has been submitted at the Pacca Danga Police Station in Jammu against Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti over the alleged disrespect of the National Flag during a protest in Srinagar on August 4.

The complaint was filed by Dr. Neeraj Sharma, a senior cardiologist and social activist, seeking legal action against Mehbooba Mufti under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971.

According to the complaint, Mufti allegedly held the National Flag upside down during the protest, which the complainant claims violates the provisions of the Act. It further states that videos and photographs of the incident have been widely circulated in the media and on social media platforms.

The complainant has urged the police to treat the matter as urgent, investigate the allegations, and register an FIR if any violation of the law is established.
