
Srinagar, Mar 09: India lifted the Champions Trophy for the third time, defeating New Zealand in a thrilling final.
Chasing a target of 252 runs, India reached 254/6 in 49 overs, with KL Rahul (34)* and Ravindra Jadeja (9)* guiding the team to victory. Skipper Rohit Sharma played a crucial knock of 76 runs, while Shreyas Iyer contributed 48 runs to stabilize the chase.
Earlier, New Zealand set a total of 251/7 in 50 overs, but India’s disciplined bowling restricted them from putting up a bigger score.
This marks India’s third Champions Trophy title, adding another major ICC trophy to their collection.
