Kathua encounter: Militants likely escape from encounter site; leave behind arms, ammunition


Kathua, Mar 24: Militants likely fleeing from the encounter site in Sanyal, Hiranagar area of Kathua have left behind arms, ammunition, and other belongings.

Reliable sources told news agency JKNS that among the recovered items are four rifle magazines, four ID packs, bulletproof jackets, multiple pairs of shoes, sleeping bags, and tracksuits.

Security forces are combing the area to track the fleeing terrorists and are examining the recovered material as part of the ongoing investigation.

The encounter had earlier resulted into the injuring of 7-year-old girl, while sources indicated that 4-5 heavily armed terrorists were initially believed to be trapped in the cordon.
