Tarigami, Mankotia spar over farmers’ compensation in Assembly

Jammu, March 24: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI (M) MLA Mohammad Yousf Tarigami and BJP legislator Balwant Singh Mankotia engaged in a heated exchange over compensation for farmers whose land was acquired by the BSF.

After the Chief Minister detailed the compensation process in response to a question by BJP MLA Vijay Kumar, Tarigami claimed that farmers in Hiranagar were in a miserable condition.

Soon, Mankotia interrupted, asserting that the area falls under Jammu.
Tarigami shot back, saying Jammu belonged to him as much as Kashmir.
