Srinagar, April 3: The Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has launched a comprehensive” Raabita Muhim” campaign for the regularization of casual labourers and other other different categories of temporary employees and the implementation of the Minimum Wages Act ,at par with Ladakh/ Delhi UT’s,for these workers working in different departments across Jammu and Kashmir.
As part of this initiative, EJAC leadership has decided to engage with political leaders, legislators of both rulling and opposition, finance experts, media houses, and other key stakeholders to build support to resolve this long-pending humanitarian issue.
In a statement, the official spokesperson of EJAC,Mir Bashir, emphasized that the leadership is committed to meeting all concerned stakeholders to seek their support and suggestions in addressing the plight of casual labourers and other temporary category employees.
*As part of this campaign, *a high-level delegation of J&K EJAC leaders, led by President Wajahat Hussain Durrani,* along with General Secretary and President J&K Casual Daily Wagers Forum, Mr. Sajad Ahmad Parray, today met with J&K People’s Conference Chairman and MLA Handwara, Mr. Sajad Gani Lone, in Srinagar .
During the meeting, President Wajahat Durrani Durrani sought Mr. Lone’s support for the regularization of daily wagers and the implementation of the Minimum Wages Act. The leaders apprised him of the dire working conditions, financial hardships, and sacrifices made by these workers in serving various departments.
President J&K Casual Daily Wagers Forum Sajad Ahmad Parray expressed gratitude to Mr. Lone for his past support in raising the issues of daily wagers on multiple occasions and voiced confidence that his party will intensify efforts to resolve their concerns.
Mr. Sajad Gani Lone acknowledged the invaluable contributions of daily wagers and assured the delegation that his party would continue advocating for their rights and work towards finding a lasting solution.
