Justice Palli appointed new Chief Justice of High Court J&K, Ladakh

New Delhi, Apr 12: Justice Arun Palli was on Saturday appointed chief justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, the Union law ministry said.
A judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Palli succeeds Justice Tashi Rabstan, who demitted office on April 9 on attaining 62 years of age.

Justice Palli’s elevation was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on April 4.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Arun Palli, Judge, High Court of Punjab and Haryana, to be the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, with effect from the date he assumes charge of the office,” reads the notification issued by Union Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India.
